About Me
I, Edward Slipszenko, am a Computer Science student at the University of Portsmouth, as well as being a Co-Founder of Jumping Lemon Web Development with Ben Forte. I consider myself proficient with PHP, (x)HTML, CSS, SQL (usually using MySQL), Python (occasionally using Django) and JavaScript (often using AJAX techniques and sometimes jQuery). This list shall hopefully be expanding considerably as my course progresses.
I was first introduced to programming in 2005, by Ben Forte whilst attending Teign School in Kingsteignton, in beautiful Devon taking my GCSE's. I was soon writing basic sites for friends and a few local businesses. After my GCSE's, I stayed at Teign Sixth Form for a while, but ended up moving onto Exeter College, but not before having had a few great experiences such as Ecuador 2008 (a month long World Challenge trip) and Berlin, Krakow and Prague 2008 with many great friends from Teign.
In Exeter College I studied Computing, English Literature, Spanish and History as well as leading the College's 2010 55 mile Ten Tors team, unfortunately we didn't manage to complete the challenge, but we still managed 45 miles by midday on the Sunday, so I can't complain. I received an A in Computing as well as discovering a new passion for English Literature (largely thanks to how good my teacher was) which I received a B in.
In the mean time I have completed a 6 week work experience placement with Website Vision as well as starting up Jumping Lemon, which has grown considerably since its creation, with Ben running the hosting and graphics design and me writing the code for our client's sites.
Summer 2010 was incredible for me due to stewarding at Beautiful Days, Aeon and Bestival.
In September 2010 I moved to Portsmouth to start my degree, where I have met some very interesting and talented people. So far, I am definitely loving university life!
